Calcutta By Metro - Esplanade
Esplanade, the throbbing heart of one of the most vivacious cities in the world. Prepare yourself for the onslaught of life as you emerge from the station. The Esplanade area is one of the busiest intersections and you would be amazed, if not dazed by the number of automobiles, buses and tramcars plying the many wide roads that meet at this point. The area is of interest to everybody visiting the city, or living there, for that matter. Once you get used to the traffic and what seems as chaos, you are bound to be charmed by the sights and the shopping and dining opportunities that this place offers. Also, if you happen to take a bus to either the hill resort of Darjeeling, the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan or to go down to the beach at Digha, you would have to pass this place since the Intercity Bus Terminus is located in its vicinity.
